Unit of competency

Modification History

Release 1. This is the first release of this unit of competency in the UEP Electricity Supply Industry - Generation Sector Training Package Release 2.0.

Application

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required coordinate operational strategies to achieve short- and long-term goals of a power generation facility's production plant.

An operational plan describes how a power generation facility will use resources within specified timeframes. Operational strategies are the methods used to reach objectives and performance targets related to the power generation facility's operational plan.

Competency in this unit requires the ability to coordinate the implementation of operational strategies, monitor strategies and report on performance against strategies. Individuals will, in general, work as a coordinator in operational management, in a power generation facility.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
